Local Environment Fund

Connecting People With Nature

We know that doing small things can make a big difference to wildlife as well as the people involved in the project, so we also awards grants to projects which contribute to raising people’s awareness of the natural world.

Grants of up to £15,000 are available for projects that create and enhance spaces for wildlife in towns and villages, close to where we live.

As well as improving biodiversity, we expect community projects to provide additional opportunities for local people to engage in the natural world by

  • contributing to raising people’s awareness of and/or involvement in and/or education about, natural and semi-natural habitats and green space; and

  • enhancing opportunities for people’s learning about and interacting with habitats and/or species.

I can’t start to tell you how grateful we are to TOE for making this project possible. I never cease to wonder at the way the project has come together and how much the community is enjoying our new Community Orchard. Thank you for all your help and support.”
